Fasciola hepatica

It is known as the liverfluke. It is the digenetic parasite. Its primary host is mammal and secondary host is snail. It causes the disease called liver rot.

Fasciola is harmless to snail but pathogenic in vertebrate host including man.

The larval stage completes in 5 stages. they are miracidium, sporocyst, redia, cercaria and metacerceria.
